Seren ("we," "us," "our") is an AI-powered inquiry management and booking assistant designed for wedding and event photographers, operated as a sole proprietorship by Cass Bowes in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Seren's platform and related services (the "Service").
By signing up for a trial or subscription, you ("Photographer," "you") agree to these Terms in full. If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to do so.
Seren connects to your existing email inbox (via forwarding), responds to incoming inquiries in your voice within approximately 90 seconds, qualifies leads using a defined set of criteria (date, budget tier, venue type, photography style, and guest count), runs an automated follow-up sequence, and sends you a structured SMS notification when a lead is fully qualified and ready to book a discovery call.
Seren operates within a strictly fixed qualification framework. It does not quote specific package prices, confirm availability for specific dates, discuss deliverable specifics, or make binding commitments on your behalf. All such conversations remain your responsibility.
Seren offers a 30-day free trial with no credit card required. The trial begins on the date your account is activated.
Guarantee: If you do not confirm at least one booking using the "I booked them" button within your first 30 days, you pay nothing and owe nothing. No explanation required.
After the 30-day trial period, your subscription will not auto-renew unless you provide payment information and explicitly confirm you wish to continue.
Prices are in Canadian dollars and exclusive of applicable taxes. GST/HST may apply depending on your province of business.
Subscriptions are billed monthly on the date your paid subscription begins. Billing is handled by Stripe. By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis.
You may cancel at any time, with no lock-in period and no cancellation fee. Upon cancellation, your Service access continues through the end of your current billing period. We do not issue refunds for partial months.
If a payment fails, we will attempt to notify you by email. Access to the Service may be suspended until outstanding payments are resolved.

Seren's data architecture is designed with privacy as a core constraint, not an afterthought. Specifically:
The couple's personal data stays in your email system. Seren processes each message to generate a reply and extract qualification signals; it does not retain that content in its own database.
Seren is a Canadian business and complies with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Seren acts as your agent in processing inquiry emails. The answer to "what personal information does Seren hold about my couples" is genuinely "none" — couples' PII remains with you, in your email system, at all times.
Seren holds limited personal information about you as a Photographer (your name, business name, email, phone number, SMTP configuration, and Stripe billing information) for the purpose of providing the Service.

All automated emails sent by Seren on your behalf include the following footer disclosure:
"This message was sent by Seren, [Photographer Name]'s automated booking assistant."
This disclosure is non-negotiable and cannot be removed. It is included on every message to ensure transparency with couples about the nature of the communication.
Seren is an automation tool, not a guarantor of results. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding booking outcomes, revenue generated, or lead conversion rates.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Seren shall not be liable for:
Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to Seren in the three months preceding the claim.
We aim to maintain 99% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible. We are not liable for downtime caused by third-party services (email providers, SMS carriers, AI model providers).
Seren and its underlying software, AI prompts, and workflows remain the intellectual property of Cass Bowes / Seren. Your tone examples and business configuration remain yours. You grant Seren a limited licence to use your tone examples solely for the purpose of generating your inquiry replies.
Either party may terminate these Terms at any time. You may cancel via your account settings. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account for material violations of these Terms, including but not limited to fraudulent use, abuse of the free trial, or use of the Service for purposes that violate applicable law.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify active subscribers of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Alberta.
