Voice & Authenticity
Seren is configured with 3–5 of your own best inquiry reply examples during onboarding. It learns your vocabulary, how you open a conversation, how you sign off, and how warm or formal you tend to be. It does not use a generic template.
During your demo call, we'll run a live test using one of your own real inquiry examples, and you'll see the reply before it ever goes to a couple. Most photographers are genuinely surprised by how well it captures their voice.
Every message also includes a footer disclosure: "This message was sent by Seren, [your name]'s automated booking assistant." We think transparency is the right call, and in our experience, couples care far more that someone replied quickly than who wrote the reply.
Good. The more distinctive your voice, the better the examples you provide, and the better Seren captures it. Seren's replies stay under 150 words and always end with a clear next step — but within those constraints, it adapts to your register.
If the first live test doesn't feel right, we adjust the tone examples before going live. You have final say before Seren sends anything real.
Privacy & Data
Seren processes each inquiry to generate a reply and extract qualification signals (date, budget tier, venue type, photography style, guest count, and couple vibe). Once that processing is complete, the message content is not stored anywhere in Seren's database.
Your couples' names, email addresses, phone numbers, and message content stay in your email system — not ours. If you asked us "what personal information do you have about couple X," the accurate answer is: nothing.
What we do store is outcome metadata only: timing, lead status, budget tier, venue category, style preference, and guest count tier. This powers your weekly digest email and the booking attribution system.
For the full breakdown, see our Privacy Policy.
No personally identifiable information about couples. Seren stores:
What we store: Timestamps, response time, lead status, budget tier (low/mid/high — no dollar amount), venue type (category only), photography style preference, guest count tier, couple vibe (3 adjectives), and how many follow-ups were sent.
What we never store: Names, email addresses, phone numbers, message content, specific wedding date, venue name, or anything identifiable.
This architecture is the foundation of our PIPEDA compliance strategy, not a workaround. It was a deliberate design decision made before a single line of code was written.
How It Works
Yes. Seren works with Gmail, Outlook, and any email provider that supports forwarding rules (almost all of them). Setup takes about two minutes during onboarding: you create a forwarding rule in your email settings that routes incoming inquiries to your unique Seren webhook address.
Seren then sends replies from your actual email address using your SMTP credentials — so from a couple's perspective, the email comes directly from you. No third-party "sent via" header, no external address.
Seren operates within a strictly defined qualification framework. It collects the six qualification criteria (date, budget, venue, style, guest count, vibe), handles mismatches gracefully, and moves qualified leads toward a discovery call with you.
Seren never: Quotes specific package prices, confirms your availability for specific dates, discusses deliverables (number of images, turnaround time, albums, second shooters), or makes any commitment outside this scope.
The discovery call is where those conversations happen — with you. Seren's job is to get a qualified, pre-briefed couple to that call, not to close the sale. You close the sale.
That's exactly when Seren earns its keep. Seren runs 24/7 with no downtime for weekends, holidays, or the fact that you're currently shooting in a field with your phone on airplane mode. Every inquiry gets a reply within 90 seconds regardless of when it arrives.
The research is clear: couples who submit inquiries on Saturday afternoon and get a reply Saturday afternoon are far more likely to book than those who hear back Monday morning — even if the photographer's work is objectively better. Speed matters most when you're least available to provide it.
Seren closes the conversation gracefully and honestly — without burning the bridge. The message acknowledges that the couple's described vision sounds like it might not align with your style, wishes them luck in finding the right fit, and closes warmly.
You configured your style tags during onboarding (e.g., light and airy, bohemian, documentary). If what the couple describes doesn't map to those tags, they don't move forward in the qualification sequence — and you never see it in your notifications.
This saves both parties real time, and it reflects well on you. Photographers who refer couples elsewhere when they're not the right fit build the kind of reputation that generates quality referrals.
The hot lead SMS you receive includes six data points about the qualified lead: wedding date, budget tier, venue type, style match, guest count, and couple vibe. These give you everything you need for a confident 15-minute discovery call.
Because Seren operates within a fixed qualification framework, you can also predict accurately what was discussed: the six qualification criteria, and nothing else. No pricing details were mentioned. No availability was confirmed. No promises were made.
The full email thread remains in your email inbox exactly where you'd expect to find it — Seren sends from and to your email address. You can always review the thread there.
Billing & Trial
The trial is fully functional — not a limited demo. For 30 days, Seren handles your inbox exactly as it would on a paid plan. Every inquiry gets a reply. Every qualified lead gets the follow-up sequence. Every hot lead fires an SMS to your phone.
No credit card is required to start. After 30 days, your subscription won't auto-renew unless you explicitly provide payment information and confirm you want to continue.
The guarantee: If you don't confirm at least one booking using the "I booked them" button within 30 days, you pay nothing and owe nothing. No questions asked.
Cancel anytime from your account settings. No lock-in period, no cancellation fee, no questions asked. If you cancel mid-month, Seren remains active through the end of your current billing cycle. We don't issue refunds for partial months.
Starter ($149 CAD/mo) covers the core workflow: unlimited inquiry responses in your voice, budget and style qualification, the 3-touch email follow-up sequence, hot lead SMS alerts, and weekly digest email. For most photographers, this is everything they need.
Pro ($197 CAD/mo) adds: a Day-3 SMS follow-up directly to the couple (200%+ higher response rate than email alone), automatic post-gallery referral request emails, calendar availability checking before confirming a lead is hot, and a custom tone onboarding session with Cass rather than self-serve setup.
The research that informs Seren is clear: SMS follow-up is one of the highest-leverage additions a photographer can make to their inquiry process. Almost nobody automates it. Pro does it automatically.
